Still championing Cloud Native in Africa.
As one of the few CNCF Ambassadors in Africa, I sought opportunities to educate many more Africans on Cloud Native. When Andela signed the partnership deal with the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) to train 30,000 technologists, it was a no-brainer, and a win-win to work with the team - visions were aligned.
Today:
✅ About 9000 applied from several African countries, including Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, and Ghana.
✅ 5000+ were trained
✅ 1000+ are now Kubernetes KCNA certified
✅ On track to train about 30,000 in Cloud Native
✅ Some have gotten better jobs
✅ Others have gotten better pay
✅ Some are more confident than before
I’m glad to have been part of the success of this first phase. Well on track to 30k. 🚀
Congrats to all involved: learners, mentors, facilitators, and sponsors.
Kabiru Ibrahim, thank you once again for the opportunity to mentor!
Now, listen - in 2026, there will be 10,000 opportunities in the program to learn Cloud Native and to get certified. This can help you in your tech journey if you’re interested in DevOps, Cloud, Linux, and Kubernetes.
Prepare for that opportunity!
